- A Golden Hour Love Affair at Eskama Cucina Italiana.
The honeymoon phase is over, and the food still hits. From burrata to Dover sole, Eskama at The St. Regis Aruba keeps the spark alive. Eskama Cucina Italiana at The St. Regis Aruba is not new to me. This was actually my third visit , which somehow made the experience even better. Thereâs something very telling about returning to a restaurant after the initial excitement wears off, when the glow fades, and youâre left with just the food, the service, and the feeling. Iâm very happy to report: Eskama still delivers! Letâs start with the terrace , because if youâre in Aruba and youâre not leaning into golden hour, what are we even doing? The outdoor seating is thoughtfully positioned beachside, yes, but with enough separation from the pedestrian path that you get privacy without feeling isolated. You can people-watch without being on display. That evening gave us a perfect sunset , the kind that demands a slow start. I like dinners to feel like events, not transactions. Drinks first. A few bites. Time. Let the appetite build naturally. Enter the Amalfi Sunset Spritz . A refreshing riff on the Aperol Spritz (an untouchable icon, frankly), this version brings in blood orange and Italicus. Itâs brighter, a bit more complex, slightly more assertive in flavor, not heavier in alcohol, just bolder. The perfect companion to a sky turning gold. To share, we ordered the Piatto di Carne e Formaggio , a generous board of Italian cured meats and cheeses served with sourdough thins, honey, fennel chutney, and olives. What stood out immediately: restraint and balance. Thick, satisfying chunks of gorgonzola and pecorino, real bread instead of filler crackers, and proportions that make sense. Enough to enjoy slowly, not so much that it derails the rest of the meal. Exactly how a sharing platter should be. For dinner, we moved indoors, partly preference, partly research. The dining room is elegant without being stiff, refined but relaxed, and very much in line with the St. Regis energy. We started with two antipasti that immediately caught my eye. The Burrata  is everything you want it to be and nothing it shouldnât. Creamy burrata (actual burrata! not mozzarella pretending), roasted peaches, lavender honey, pistachios, and grilled focaccia. The stracciatella inside was fresh, milky, and lush. Who knew peaches were such a great alternative to tomatoes? Then came the Grilled Octopus , which I will order every time it appears on a menu, non-negotiable. Here, itâs served over a cannellini bean purĂ©e (very Italian, very correct), paired with grilled lemon. That charred citrus note changes everything. Zero notes. Absolute repeat order. Now came the dilemma: pasta, fish, or steak. Italian restaurant math is hard. Luckily, Executive Chef RamĂłn Ramos  happened to walk out of the kitchen, and if youâve met him before, you know heâs not someone you forget. I waved him over immediately. After hearing what weâd already eaten, he suggested introducing a new flavor profile to the table: Truffle . His picks: Tagliatelle al Tartufo Nero Lobster Ravioli with Saffron Beurre Blanc And from the seafood section: Dover Sole Say less. The tagliatelle  was a quiet star. Fresh pasta with that unmistakable chew, coated in a light truffle and Parmigiano-Reggiano emulsion that never veered into heavy or soupy territory. Elegant, restrained, deeply satisfying. Proof that truffle doesnât need to scream to be memorable. The lobster ravioli  surprised me in a good way. The saffron beurre blanc is punchy, aromatic, and unapologetic. This is not a background sauce. Chef RamĂłn explained that the lobster comes from New England, not Caribbean (too sweet), not European (too salty), but perfectly balanced. If you like bold flavors and arenât afraid of something different, this is absolutely worth ordering. Then there was the Dover Sole . Iconic for a reason. Here, itâs treated less like a formal tableside performance and more like something youâd eat on a terrace along the Amalfi Coast. Lightly breaded, sautĂ©ed, and served with a silky lemon-caper butter sauce that somehow tastes indulgent and clean at the same time. Perfect seasoning. Perfect texture. Served with a variety of cooked vegetables and roasted potatoes. If you order one dish here, make it this one. Dessert was non-negotiable. We skipped the affogato (next time, because my friend does not drink coffee! The nerve!) and went with the Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake . Deconstructed, creamy ricotta and mascarpone, lemon zest, crumble, and a glossy berry coulis that was tangy, concentrated, and bright. Is it life-altering? No. Is it excellent and far above average? Absolutely. And sometimes, thatâs exactly what you want. A quick note on drinks: my Martini  was flawless. Ice-cold, elegant glassware, three olives (because luck matters). No notes there either. And finally! The Service . Our server Laura,  was warm, charming, patient, and endlessly accommodating, even as I moved tables, took photos, requested booths, and generally behaved like someone writing a blog post. Ricardo, the restaurant manager, also deserves a mention. Hospitality here feels genuine, not rehearsed. Eskama Cucina Italiana sits right at the heart of The St. Regis Aruba , offering a gorgeous indoor dining room, a sunset-ready terrace, and a concise Italian menu that balances classics with unexpected standouts. Itâs the kind of place you return to not just because itâs good, but because it offers something out of the ordinary and the quiet elegance of a St. Regis location. Thatâs what keeps me coming back. Ready to explore the menu and make a reservation? Check their page on Opentable here Until the next one!
- Breakfast with a View.
THE Ocean-view breakfast at Eagle Beach with croissant sandwiches, açaĂ bowls & more, open to all, not just JOIA guests. Iâve raved about Marea (at JOIA Aruba by Iberostar ) before, but Iâve been holding back one secret: their breakfast. The food? Beyond. The terrace? A front-row seat to Eagle Beach. Look at it on Google Maps! It's literally THERE! The whole scene? Pure Chefâs Kiss . And hereâs the thing: you donât need to be a guest of JOIA to indulge. You donât even need to wrangle with the hotel parking lot. Marea sits right on the boulevard, steps from the sand, perfectly positioned for a morning dip followed by a proper breakfast. Then? Back to your palapa, bliss intact. Marea nails that sweet spot between elevated and effortless. The space is sprawling, with both indoor and outdoor seating that never feels crowded, so the energy stays relaxed and breezy. The design leans polished but unfussy, lots of textures and accents, comfortable furniture you actually want to sink into, tables set with nice plates and glassware, and yes, cloth napkins every time. Itâs the kind of setting that makes breakfast feel like an occasion, without ever tipping into stuffy. Now, the menu . Itâs a choose-your-own-adventure situation: Criollo? Mexican? American? Sweet or savory? Hot or cold? For me, breakfast begins with coffee. Non-negotiable. Mareaâs cappuccinos come with a chocolate chip cookie on the side. A tiny, thoughtful detail that sets the tone. (And yes, I ate mine before I even touched the cup.) From there, things get fun. I always order a spread; part indecision, part duty to report back, part excuse to taste-test my way through the lineup. Hereâs what stands out: Sandwiches. A good breakfast sandwich can be the only thing you need if itâs done right. At Marea , you choose your vessel: bagel, English muffin, or the buttery T2 Pan croissant. Yes, you read that right. Eggs & Avocado.  Scrambled eggs, hefty chunks of avocado, and American cheese on a bagel. Generous, satisfying, and balanced. A classic done right. $14 Bacon & Nutella.  The wild card. Donât roll your eyes, just trust me. It belongs on a croissant, and once you try it, youâll never go back. My skeptical friend took one bite and immediately converted. (P.S. Marea, if youâre reading this: add a hefty, proper, smoked salmon, capers, onion, and cream cheese bagel, New Yorkâstyle, and youâll have me for life.) Bowls. Whatâs a modern breakfast without an açaĂ bowl? Mareaâs is part chia pudding, part sorbet, layered with berries and coconut. It eats more like a hybrid parfait. Fresh, light, and very Instagram-friendly. $22 The Main Event. Breakfast Nachos.  Nachos are a perfect food. Full stop. Marea levels them up with scrambled eggs, black beans, guacamole, sour cream, and bacon bits over molten cheddar-cream cheese sauce. Itâs decadent, shareable, and the kind of plate that makes you rethink âmorning food.â $16 Bacon, Eggs & Plantain Stack.  Crispy plantains with fried eggs (soft yolks, obviously), bacon, and hashbrowns. Itâs a plate of textures: crunchy, runny, salty-sweet. The bite youâll remember. $24 Mocktails. Ordering one feels festive, like youâre sneaking vacation into your morning without the mid-day crash. If youâre in the mood to elevate your breakfast ritual, donât skip it. The Verdict. Life is too short for bad breakfasts. Marea is one of the best spots on the island right now: a view that stuns, food that comforts, and a menu that balances classics with playful wild cards. Service is polished, as youâd expect from an Iberostar property, but never stiff. Go. Order too much. Start your day the way it was meant to be started.
- Zima: The Social Scene Darling
The Aruban social scene has a new darling: Zima , the pool terrace at JOIA Aruba by Iberostar, and for good reason! First, the setting. Youâre perched above the infinity pool, with Eagle Beach and the sunset stretched out in front of you. The views are pure postcard material. The bar menu covers every mood, from crisp spritzes to celebratory champagne. And the food? Itâs not just âpool bitesâ; these are plates crafted to match the moment, from oysters to desserts, depending on where the evening takes you. Picture this: the weekend has just begun. All you want is a cold drink, a little mingling, and the best possible backdrop. Zima has that and more! Zima feels like the answer to a question no one had managed to get quite right: How do you combine comfort, taste, and beauty in one unforgettable spot? 5:30 PM â Happy Hour begins. You stroll through the hotel lobby, step out onto the terrace, and claim your table. From the DJ booth, Aguilar spins smooth house beats. Your number one priority: drink in hand. There are sixteen Happy Hour drinks at half price from 5:30â7:30 PM . I sampled all  the Signature Cocktails and the Classic Frozen lineup. A tough assignment, but someoneâs got to do it. Signature Cocktails Saturn Gin, passion fruit, falernum, orgeat, lime. Light, bright, and refreshing. The passion fruit makes it pool-perfect. $11 during Happy Hour. Sea and Sand Don Julio Silver tequila, KahlĂșa, and coconut cream. Imagine a White Russian meeting a Tequila Espresso Martini, but fresher, lighter. $10.50. Eâ Perfetto Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth, cinnamon, and Norino Amaro. My favorite Italian vermouth in a drink thatâs sweet without being cloying. Think of it as a grown-upâs Coca-Cola. $10.50. Classic Frozen Selection Miami Vice Half piña colada, half strawberry daiquiri, a vacation classic with a TV-show wink. Passion Fruit Daiquiri Bacardi Rum, passion fruit, an adult slushie with a tropical kick. Margarita Frozen Tequila, triple sec, lime. The undisputed âIâm on vacationâ order. All frozen drinks are $9 during Happy Hour. Food to Match the Mood Zima doesnât settle for basic pool snacks. My advice? Order a few dishes and share. Pekin Duck Spring Rolls Shiitake mushrooms, carrots, red bell pepper, and oriental dip. Crunchy, savory, and so tempting we almost ordered a second round. $22. Cheese Balls Gouda, mango chutney, smoked aioli. Golden, melty, and with that sweet-smoky sauce combo you keep going back for. In Aruba, cheese balls at Happy Hour arenât just tradition â theyâre an unspoken rule. $16. Octopus âAl Olivoâ Octopus, olive mayo, avocado, cherry tomato, toast. The olive mayo (Iâm betting Kalamata) is addictive. I only wished for more bread to scoop it up. $22. Beef Wagyu Sliders American cheese, onions, relish, brioche. All the comfort of a backyard burger, but dressed up in a tux. Juicy, rich, and balanced enough that you donât feel weighed down. $18. Tuna Bao Buns Fluffy bao filled with crisp lettuce, premium tuna, tangy pickles, and fresh cilantro. Cool, briny, and fresh. Sea breeze in sandwich form. Beyond the Happy Hour. When the sun sets, the energy shifts. Every Friday, local favorite Marisela  and the band take the stage; itâs like she has made a Friday residency at this venue (and Wednesdays, acoustic), drawing the islandâs most stylish crowd. What began with house tunes by Aguilar  turns into a lively sing-along and dance party. Glasses clink, Prosecco corks fly, and Zima glows with that âthis is exactly where I want to beâ feeling. For more info and reservations, check Zima's website HERE For the Full Menu , click HERE I will see you there!
- Terra.Mare.Fuoco at MercĂĄt.
Three culinary titans from the Aruba Marriott joined forces for the latest dining event at MercĂĄt: Terra, Mare, Fuoco . Hereâs the night, in pictures and words. Itâs practically common knowledge on the streets of Aruba: whenever MercĂĄt announces a new dining event, the islandâs foodies scramble to book a table. And lately, without fail, itâs been a guaranteed sold-out affair. This time, the three resort chefs, Cristiano Guidetti, Rafael HernĂĄndez, and Natassja Moya , brought their backgrounds, styles, and training together for seven courses that showed exactly why theyâre at the top of their game. A night that won't be easy to forget for most of us. The Culinary Team at MercĂĄt and Chefs Natassja Moya, Rafael HernĂĄndez, and Cristiano Guidetti from left to right. The restaurant was dressed in understated elegance. First, we gathered around the bar where coupes of Segura Viudas Brut were served and handed out to whoever extended a hand, a refreshing welcome by Divino, in charge of the wine selection for the event. When we finally took our seats, the tables greeted us with meticulous detail. Sparkling glassware, artfully folded linens, and just enough sunlight streaming through the windows to make everything glimmer like scattered gemstones. We were ready! 7 Courses. Arancino. A Risotto Milanese filled with mushrooms, guanciale, and a touch of Gorgonzola Dolce. A single one that left us with a spike of excitement. Way to start the night by Chef Cristiano. Burratina. Chef Guidetti once again decided to play his greatest hits like an artist on a world tour. Burrata, olives, tomatoes, and neat slices of black truffle. I saved one truffle slice for a solo bite on a cracker. The literal personification of the question "What's not to love?" Caviar & Scallops. We did not know it was gonna be this fancy. I suspect more than a few tins of Ossetra caviar were involved in creating this course for the whole room. A real taste of the finest the ocean can offer, on top of artichoke hearts. And with this dish, Chef Cristiano left the stage to his colleagues. Duck Magret. Chef Rafael took the stage with a dish that could easily have been served in Paris. The duck was cooked with precision, the kind of mastery that only French culinary training delivers. A silky celeriac purĂ©e, charred orange supreme, and a single spear of green asparagus crowned with edible flowers completed the composition. The artistry was as memorable as the flavors. Octopus. Then came Chef Natassjaâs octopus, its char glistening thanks to a drizzle of chimichurri. A playful gazpacho sphere, mimicking an egg yolk, added a touch of whimsy. Potatoes, naturally, anchored the plate, because octopus and potatoes are simply meant for each other. Tenderloin. I am not going to lie, I think we have seen and tried endless tenderloins, so whenever I see it on a menu, I don't really mind it. Chef Natassja had other plans. She was the wow factor of the night. When the tenderloin showed up at the table, there was a paper plane decorating it that was immediately set aflame, leaving no trace behind. It wowed us like kids at a Magic show. The dish was gorgeous, especially the romesco emulsion on the side. Caribbean Mille Feuille. Mille Feuille is the trend of the moment! even for wedding cakes, and these guys know how to make a great one. Vanilla (with its real specks) ice cream, coconut cream, and a chocolate feather, all topped with gold leaf. A proper send-off. And talking about send-offs, as a parting gift, they have given us a box with three gourmet salts: Himalayan, Maldon, and Hawaiian black. Such a nice detail. Wine pairings, as I mentioned before, were masterfully executed for each dish by Divino . When are we going to have a sort of sommelier wine-pairing contest here on the island? We have to come up with something! There are so many good ones. Ruben van der Ven from Divino on the pours. And here I am once again to tell you that If you really want to treat yourself to an experience that will leave you delighted, nourished, and even shocked with surprise, a restaurant that, in these events, serves the finest things that can reach our tables in Aruba, you have to come to the dining events at MercĂĄt at the Aruba Marriott Resort . It is the place to be. Hasta la prĂłxima!

- MarCo Canteen - Finally Made it!
Iâve been to Marco Canteen a few times now, but somehow never got around to actually posting about it, so when @wheninaruba asked if I wanted to go check it out together, it was the perfect excuse to finally put something down. Marco Canteen is set up on the side patio of the new Bodegas Papiamento Distillery in downtown Oranjestad, really close to the cruise ship terminal đłïž, and parking is super easy, literally right out front đ żïž. The whole setup is built around a custom Airstream trailer, with picnic tables, string lights, and a casual, open-air vibe that makes it a great hangout spot at night. We decided to order some of the most talked-about items and share them with you â hereâs the tea đ”: đ„© Â BEEF & SHIITAKE â $15 Brushed beef with aged miso-seaweed butter. đŹ The tea: It was tender and well-seasoned, but at the end of the day, a beef skewer is a beef skewer. Good, just not mind-blowing. â 5/10 đ KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN SANDO â $15 đŹ The tea: They toned down the heat (finally!), so it's much more balanced now. Donât be scared of the kimchi â it plays well with the rest. Classic crispy chicken + slaw combo, done right. â 8/10 â A must-try! đ CANTEEN SMASH BURGER â $15 đŹ The tea: A new supreme has risen! Sorry to all the pub/hotel burgers, this one is the best of American-style burgers out there. Bun is soft, cheese is plenty, all flavors blend well, it is a well-rounded bite til the end. It could seem simple but it is all you need and honestly it is barely over the price of a fast food chain burger. â 10/10 đ« CHILLED MOCHI BROWNIE â $7 đŹ The tea: Tea:  That chewy, moist mochi texture is the star. Coffee enhances the chocolate, sea salt is brilliant here. I couldnât really tell the difference with the soy caramel, but it worked. â 8/10 Drinks + Tips đž You can grab drinks from the Distillery bar â cocktails, premium beers, and more. Just a heads-up: this isnât fast food pricing. A few drinks can definitely  add up. Hours & Extra Info Marco is also open for lunch ! No need to worry about the heat, thereâs an A/C dining space inside the distillery.đ°ïž Lunch: 11:30 AM â 2:30 PM Dinner: Until 10 PM (11 PM Fri/Sat) As a plus plus : MarCo is pet friendly! Next time, RamĂłn is going with me! Menu.
- Have you heard of Marea?
Unless youâve been living under a rock and have not noticed, Marea is the restaurant facing the boulevard and Eagle Beach, on the JOIA Aruba by Iberostar Resort . Here's what to expect when dining there! I had been there before for breakfast (which is excellent, I will definitely dive deeper into it in a separate post), but I was due for the dinner experience. Marea is a Caribbean-inspired restaurant where Chef Alejandro Camurri and his culinary team have curated a selection of dishes featuring fresh and locally sourced ingredients. At Marea , you can find dishes from gourmet burgers to grilled meats and fresh catch. Dine inside if your vibe is more air-conditioned; it's beautiful! Or sit on the terrace to enjoy the evening breeze, there is no wrong way. Sippinâ A good cocktail reflects the restaurantâs quality and personality. Thereâs no better way to start your evening than sipping on a good one while reading the menu and catching up with friends; it sets the tone for the rest of the experience. Last Chance Nothing says âWeâre in the Caribbeanâ more than a pineapple cocktail. This martini says loudly: âWeâre having dinner in Arubaâ. Gin-based, pineapple juice, orangello, lime, and Drambuie for depth. $22 Pisco Bramble Pisco cocktails always grab my attention. Blackberry, lime, and orange bitters. Be careful if you are not trained with Pisco, it is a strong one. Appetizers. Coconut Panko Shrimp Definitely not your average coconut shrimp. Iâll admit, the name almost made me pick something else⊠How special could coconut shrimp really be? But our lovely server, Kristal, insisted. And Iâve got to say: the presentation was stunningâalmost sci-fi, in a way. Huge, crispy shrimp perched on a sweet potato purĂ©e, topped with a passion fruit and orange foam. Chefâs kiss. $21. Lobster Pancake Roll Lobster rolls are one of my favorite foods! if I see one on a menu, I have  to order it. I was especially curious to try this version (a friend had already recommended it), and it absolutely delivered. The vibe: a pan bati pancake filled with lobster salad. Thank goodness it wasnât overly mayonnaise-y, that usually ruins a good lobster roll for me. I did miss a bit of that classic celery crunch, though. $19. Mains. We were determined to try a wider variety of dishes and branch out a bit, you know? I could go on about the menu, blah blah blah... but then a rack of BBQ ribs cruised past our table on its way to someone else, and our jaws dropped. Was this the night we traded the Corvina for BBQ ribs? Baby Back Ribs Massiveâas in âAre you gonna eat all that?â ârack of ribs, slathered in an original honey and pineapple BBQ sauce. Meaty, juicy, tender⊠All the good things ribs should be. Highly recommend! $38. Angus Skirt Steak Skirt steak has become a staple on menus all around, a crowd pleaser! 12oz of steak, onions, red peppers, and chimichurri made in-house. I could see myself coming back for this one. $42 Sides. Grilled Corn On the cob, chipotle cream, paisa cheese, just the right amount of charred spots. Iâve never seen corn treated with this much care in any other place. $14 Fu lly Loaded Baked Potato Baked and then fluffed with butter, cheddar cheese, bacon bits, and a sprinkle of chives. What if I just go next time to eat a couple of these? $14. Dessert. Tropical Pavlova The classic crunch of a baked meringue with strawberries, passion fruit custard, mango, and dulce de leche. This is the one I would pick for one fresh last bite. It would not take me much to go back to Marea, even if just for a drink; the terrace overlooking Eagle Beach is enough of a reason! The shrimp, the skirt steak, and the baked potato have stayed on my mind ever since that day⊠ah! And next time someone mentions ribs, Iâll be the first to jump and say: âYou must try them at Marea !â

- Bucatini: Oh, You Thought It Was Just Pasta.
Think itâs all spaghetti and classics? Think again. The new Italian at JOIA Aruba by Iberostar serves up way more than pasta: itâs a whole new way to do Italian in Aruba. Hereâs the story. It is not unusual for a resort to include an Italian restaurant in its restaurant catalogue. Italian food is the ultimate comfort food, loved by adults and kids. There's nothing like a good plate of pasta or a pizza after a day lying on the beach to replenish. The restaurant offerings at JOIA are pretty well-rounded: Star CafĂ©, a coffee shop with breakfast items and pastries; Zima, a chic rooftop bar by the infinity pool; Marea, a casual restaurant for Ă la carte breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner; and Bucatini, an Italian. By the way, itâs not even complete yet! They have two more openings coming soon: a Chefâs Table and a Steakhouse. Iâm here at Bucatini not just to review the food, but to explore the unique ways you can experience it, not just by grabbing a Rigatoni alla Vodka and a glass of wine. Theyâve crafted a variety of experiences that really set it apart from other spots on the island. The Restaurant. Located on the ground floor, overlooking the gardens and pools, Bucatini is a stylish spot, thoughtfully decorated. Tableware is elegant, the menu is nicely presented in a cactus green holder. Many textures come together on shades of brown, green, and orange that make sense. The dining area feels spacious yet cozy, perfect for both large groups and intimate meals, with booths and cocoon-style tables. (It also hosts the breakfast buffet in the morning.) The outdoor area is softly lit, with tables facing the garden and pools. The evening breeze and a little table lamp set the perfect vibe. Personally, I find this space especially beautiful, not just because of the stunning resort grounds, but because of the tranquility. Thereâs no traffic, no loud music, and no crowds of pedestrians (which can be fun for people-watching, of course!). Instead, it offers a peaceful retreat, like dining on a mansion terrace. Experiences. Aperitivo. One great, delicious way to enjoy Bucatini is the Aperitivo: a pre-dinner social ritual in Italy involving light drinks and small snacks, meant to stimulate the appetite and unwind with friends. Bucatini features a chic Aperitivo cart, where you get to experience the art of crafting your own personalized drink, right at your table. The choice of aperitivo liquor is up to you, and thereâs plenty to learn along the way. Ashley, our amazing server, walked us through every detail, making sure we picked a drink that matched our tastes. Starlino Orange, Italian Vermouth, or Lilletâeach poured elegantly into a rocks glass with ice, topped with various sprays and garnishes. I went with Italian Vermouth, spritzed with cherry extract and a dried orange slice. Itâs the perfect balance of sweet bitternessâsuper elegant. Itâs not just a drink, itâs a moment! It's like creating your new favorite drink! Get the Recipe: Italian Vermouth, spritz of cherry, dried orange. But where are the snacks? WELL... Bucatini has the only Antipasto station I have seen here in Aruba. Freshly prepared every day, it offers an impressive and curated selection of Italian cheeses, cold cuts, breads, and much more. I went absolutely nuts! You pay $30 (it's highlighted on the menu), and off you go to make yourself a plate. The massive olives (with pit, of course), the mushrooms, the artichoke hearts, the prosciutto, top-tier olive oils, the giant capers... we lost our minds! You can go back again and replenish, you can even share it! It is so good. I can't wait to go back for sunset aperitivo with some friends, get a bottle of wine, and go wild at that station. And talking about wine... All You Can Wine. On Tuesdays, from 6 to 9 PM, you can have unlimited Italian wines for $35 per person. Sybren Lewis, the Executive Sommelier, has put together a nice selection of whites and reds. Add the $30 Antipasto and yo got yourself the perfect plan. 2x1 Pizzas and Pastas. Mix and match your favorites: two pastas, two pizzas, or one of each. You pay for the pricier one, and the second is free. Simple, delicious math. Wednesday & Fridays from 6 to 9 PM. I think trying this promo is a good opportunity to get to know the restaurant. Dining out has become very expensive, and when trying out a new restaurant, we appreciate a good deal before becoming regular patrons. Food Rundown. Ok, I've told you everything I know about the deals going on, let's get into the food I had. Complimentary. You'll get focaccia, Mortadella, olives, and the classic olive oil-balsamic mix for the table once you sit. What's not to like? Polpetta. This colossal meatball is made with beef and lamb, served on tomato sauce and crispy slices of bread with parmesan cheese. First, this has to be shareable, it is quite large. We loved it, it has the perfect lamb-beef ratio. The tomato sauce has a sweet note that is different but not unpleasant. $20 10/10 Insalata di Mare. This octopus salad is a nice fresh appetizer to start with. I always choose a mix of hot and cold apps when dining. Slices of octopus with string fried potatoes, arugula, and capers. Take me to a terrace in Positano, please! 9/10 Prosciutto Pizza. Here, the pizzas come in a longer, oval shape, pizza alla palla, named in Italian. Thin, crispy, and generously served and portioned so you can get prosciutto, straciatella, and sundried tomatoes on every slice. $24 8.5/10 Ravioli di Mortadella. Immediately drawn to order this, Mortadella aficionado here. Creamy inside, with that unique taste, on top a truffle and pesto hybrid creamy sauce, pine nuts, fried artichoke (insane bite!). We loved it too, although I think it can do without the truffle, however, I get the appeal of it. $35 7.5/10 Lasagna. I wouldnât normally order lasagna for dinner! Itâs more of a lunch dish for me (the kind I have to nap off afterward), but Sybren insisted. And this was no ordinary lasagna. Made with osso buco, a rich, shredded meat, it was unlike anything I expected. Sybren promised us it would be worth it, and he wasnât wrong. That osso buco red wine ragu blew us away. With very few layers of pasta, itâs all about the substance (as you can see in the detailed pic below). $35 10/10. You don't even need to add cheese to it... But if you do: Here is the cheese cart, where different types and ages of Parmigiano and Pecorino are available. That's called going beyond . Another interesting dishes to try next time: Rigatoni alla vodka (Always a good idea), Kale Carbonara, Caesar Salad, and all the desserts. Cocktail Rundown. A complete dining experience is not complete without a taste of the bar. I tasted some cocktails on and off the menu for the sake of this hard job I do. Haha! Fresh Reviver. Gin-based, strawberry, cucumber, lime, ginger ale. I always rate cocktails based on how many I would drink in one night, this one is it. I could have 4 and not get tired of it. $22 10/10 Milano Sour. For those dessert cocktail people, here is a great one. Pisco, Amaretto, orange, lime, and double cream. Be careful with the Pisco, if you know you know! 7/10 Coconut Cocktail. (off the menu) Coconut, lime, vodka, out of a tropical picture. This was off the menu, and bartender Oriana offered to surprise us with a couple of custom creations. 9/10 A riff on the Aruba Ariba. (off the menu) Rum-based, pineapple, and grenadine. Strong island feel. 8/10 Honestly, Bucatini is kind of a game-changer in Arubaâs Italian scene: think elevated vibes  without the stuffy pretension . The food? Totally on point. The service? Flawless. Itâs the perfect spot for a chill date night or a group hang with friends. Whether you're sipping on a custom aperitivo or diving into that rich lasagna, youâre in for an experience thatâs both delicious and Instagram-worthy. From our hostess MarĂa JosĂ©, our servers Rosanna and Ashley, Sybren and Oriana on the drinks, Chef Jchamiell Blanco in the kitchen, all led by Executive Chef Alejandro Camurri. If you follow my Instagram, you'll see me return. And that's the testament to a good first visit, the desire to come back for more. - We Brunched with the Easter Bunny at Gianni's.
Easter Sunday is a vibrant celebrationâwhat better way to enjoy it than with a festive brunch and having a glass of Bellini with the Easter Bunny at Gianni's Ristorante Italiano? Of all Sundays, Easter is one of the most special of the year. Families and friends gather with one purpose: to enjoy themselves and indulge in some delicious food. Sunday Brunch is always a great idea, and Gianni's understood the assignment: a festive selection of dishes, colorful decor, and the Easter Bunny, great vibes all around. The Food. Our experience began with two breakfast items and a nice cup of coffee, the Vegetable omelet and the fruit Waffle: Straight to the point, an omelet with leeks, mushrooms, and bacon bits, for those who can't imagine a breakfast without an egg dish. The Fruit Waffle, topped with berries, microgreens, and caramel sauce, sang at our table. I am glad to see they kept a sweet item on the menu; some brunches often remove them, and for us, the sweet-tooth crowd, it is a must. Although Turkey is more commonly associated with Christmas or Thanksgiving, Gianni's had a live carving station, and I heard it sold like hot bread. The Egg Salad Bruschetta was one of my favorites. Nicely prepared, creamy, and with a touch of pickles. A simple yet elegant red beet salad with oranges and feta cheese was the fresh touch of the menu. Would not be a brunch at Gianni's without some pasta. The Rigatoni with caramelized onions and tenderloin was fantastic, a touch of sweet, cooked al dente, perfect chew. The Gnocci al fileto, with shrimp and tomato sauce, felt like munching on pillows. The Salmon in carrots and leek sauce had a buttery texture, melting into a delicate carrot and leek sauce, a dish both elegant and comforting. Sweets. On the left, the Key Lime Tartlet was airy, fresh, could have had 10 of them. The Eclair was interesting! The coffee glaze moved it into a Mocha territory, with no notes. Tunes were in charge of Dj V, Vanessa Leer. Always a standout. Dj V. The Easter Bunny stole the show. Cheering with bellinis, sitting at the tables, going for a spin at the 360 photobooth. Going out for a meal during a jam-packed holiday can be tricky, and Gianni's Ristorante executed and delivered without a hitch. Congratulations to the team! The room was full of all kinds of people, and everyone was having their fun. Kids with the easter eggs and face paint, adults with bottomless Bellinis (a sparkling wine bottle was popping every 10 seconds đŸ), and the Easter Bunny making its rounds, having a moment with everybody. They have brunch every Sunday, no need to wait for a special holiday to go! I'll be there next year, count me in!
- The Dog Menu at Elements.
Wanna treat your dog to a fancy birthday celebration? Elements at Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort is the place to do it! As soon as I found out that Elements Restaurant launched a Dog Menu I knew I had to take my dog RamĂłn there, and what better occasion than his 2nd birthday? Finding a place where to have dinner with your dog as your plus one is not easy, since we may have less than a handful of pet-friendly restaurants in Aruba, but things are changing with new options appearing, slowly but surely... The Culinary Team at Elements, the signature restaurant of the Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, thought of everything when creating their Dog Menu. A 3-course meal and woah, what a meal! RamĂłn was the happiest and fanciest dog that day. Whether it is beef or chicken your dog's favorite, they have made several options, making sure all ingredients and preparations are dog friendly, without any additives or seasonings that could hurt them, it is never a good idea to feed your pets with food made for humans, they don't respond well to high sodium and many ingredients could be toxic or give them allergies. The Dog Menu Experience. The five-star treatment starts once you get to your table. A fresh water bowl is placed close so you don't have to worry about bringing a water bottle or asking for a cup. Dogs usually get thirstier when they are in a new place or around unusual environments, so more than ideal. Here is a screenshot of the menu, which can be found on Element's Website I chose the Puppy Feast , based on RamĂłn love for chicken. It comes with basmati rice, grilled chicken, some avocado, some olives, carrots, tomatoes, and some cheese, just a dash... the portion is huge. We got too excited and forgot to take a good picture, but you'll get the idea. $8 You can't make a dog eat something they don't like, but look here he was enjoying it to the max. A while later and two martinis in (hey! The parents and friends get to have some fun too!) the dessert arrived, a special piece of cake for dogs. I thought he was too full to eat it but that assumption was a mistake, the whole thing was gone in seconds. The cake was complimentary. Few crumbs left. The restaurant looks better than ever. They just reopened the indoor area after a full renovation and it is looking fantastic, the booths look like a great spot, especially for brunch, which I will be reviewing soon. The deck area is probably where you'll want to sit, with sunset views, breeze, and background music at low volume... this is a place for unwinding and relaxing. The drinks were top too, the Beach Club Clover with Gin, raspberry purĂ©e, raspberry liqueur, citrus juice, and egg white was thoroughly enjoyed. Drinks are around $12 The Beach Club Clover, gin based. There you have it, short and sweet. RamĂłn's 2nd birthday could have not been better! The Elements' team really made us feel welcomed and at ease. Every step of the experience was great, especially thanks to Shakim who gave us flawless service. Please take note that Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort and Elements Restaurant is an Adults-Only, cashless, and no-groups (6 people max) establishment if you want to plan your dog's bday dinner. Special Thanks to Crescenzia Biemans and the F&B Team, NicolĂĄs Nelmaceff, and Chef Federico MartĂn for making it all happen. We couldn't be more grateful.
